7MATTHEWS MARKING SYSTEMS BULKS UP Matthews Marking Systems exhibited its new VIAjet L-Series Active Bulk Ink System (ABIS), a bulk ink delivery technology for high-resolution thermal inkjet printing.
“Other companies have tried to create bulk ink solutions like this, but bulk ink is very challenging to work with – it’s highly sensitive to temperature changes, vibrations and other environmental factors. ABIS monitors the environment and auto-adjusts the pressure to eliminate leaking and keep the ink flowing smoothly,” said Ray Fortuna, technical project manager at Matthews Marking Systems.
“It features an auto-switching dual ink supply, so the printer can run constantly without interruption. Plus, the cartridges have up to 30 times longer life than single-use systems.”
8KEEPING IT SECURE
Systech, distributed in Australia by Foodmach, showed off its Systech Brand Protection Suite, which integrates serialisation, traceability, authentication, and insight to combat counterfeiters, solve product diversion, and meet regulatory compliance.
“Since launching the game changing Systech UniSecure solution at Auspack in March, we’ve had tremendous interest from Australian wine and nutraceutical manufacturers and brand owners,” said Phil Biggs, general manager of product traceability solutions at Foodmach.
“We’ve proven the technology can create a unique serialised ‘eFinger- print’ from a standard retail barcode at speeds over 700 products per minute, with a 100 per cent read rate. Interest has been focused on anti-counterfeit applications, particularly for exporters into Asia.” ■
