Making their mark in Foodservice
Nestlé Professional is a proud partner of the Women in Foodservice Awards, recognising successful women leading Australia’s culinary landscape.
Shining a light on the industry’s best and brightest
is a commitment that spans over five decades for Nestlé Professional. Through the Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award, we have provided a valuable platform for many female chefs to advance their culinary careers.
We are proud to recognise some of the country’s top emerging culinary talent, our female Golden Chefs, as well as women making an impact in the Australian Culinary Federation, our key industry partner.
A Rising Star “
At just 19 years old, third-year apprentice chef Sarah Jones is already making her mark, having made it to the finals of the 2018 Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award.
She then represented Australia in the Tropheé Mille (Reims, France), achieving honours and winning Best Savoury Dish.
2019 has seen the National Wine Library chef impress judges with a gold medal-winning menu and Jones will once again represent her home state of South Australia in the Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award national finals.
“I was cooking dinner for my family from the age of seven, so it’s fair to say I was drawn to a career in food. Getting to the finals of Golden Chef’s and on the back of that representing Australia in the Tropheé Mille gave me the confidence to produce something a bit more out there, which got me honours and won me Best Savoury Dish competing against teams from 11 other countries.”
“There’s still so much for me to learn as a chef and
I’m very focused on the challenges ahead and pushing to see what I can do.”
For me, it’s all about backing yourself. It’s what you
make of every opportunity
that counts.
