RUTH WOODROW
Ruth Woodrow has always been interested in photography, but had never really pursued it until she met her husband, Paul. She borrowed his camera and started taking black-and-white images on film, which she developed with him in their make-shift darkroom in their bathroom. Woodrow and her husband have travelled extensively, which initially translated into a love of travel photography, and subsequently blossomed into a love of all sorts of documentary photography, including photojournalism and street photography. Joining the Melbourne Camera Club proved to be an enlightening experience and allowed her the opportunity to engage with other like-minded photographers as well as compete in the club’s competitions. Her work has since been recognised in a number of national and international competitions.
