Cobot to make industry debut at AUSPACK
New kid in the collaborative robot space in Australia, Victorian-based Cobot aims to position itself as the go-to place for small to medium local manufacturers to gain market competitiveness through robotics and automation. Jan Arreza reports.
FOUNDED in May 2021 by manag- ing director Andrew Quayle, Cobot designs and builds high quality, reliable automation sys- tems at affordable prices, to help Australian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the food, beverage and other
sectors become more efficient in their operations and benefit from the imple- mentation of new technology.
The company integrates and develops robotic solutions utilis- ing collaborative robots (cobots) and industrial robots, with traditional or safety sensor guarding.
Cobot has a trusted partnership with Jaka Robotics and is the exclusive dis- tributor for its robots in Australia. Quayle said Cobot chose Jaka Robotics due to their large range of payloads and reach, and their “high quality, high reliability, and affordable pricing”.
The company is also a proud specialist reseller of Ewellix vertical lift and slide kits, and has partnered with AaRM to design and develop solutions for its customer base using the latest Mark Forged 3D printers and scanners.
“I could see a gap in the market for SMEs to easily implement automa- tion in Australia, and could see that many of these companies were not jumping into the space due to it being
too expensive to do,” Quayle told PKN.
“We provide stan- dard automation systems like fast- turnaround, low-cost palletising systems, as well as custom auto- mation solutions – for those needing palle- tising or packaging equipment that didn’t fit into the standard offerings we have on offer,” Quayle said.
Cobot will be at this year’s AUSPACK event (stand H190) to showcase its lat- est offerings and solutions, and the company can’t wait for its launch at the show, timed to coincide with the company’s one-year anniversary.
“With the pandemic shutting most things down in recent years,
I could see a gap
in the market for SMEs to easily implement automation in Australia...”

we’ve only had the chance to really announce ourselves online through our website and other platforms, so we are looking at AUSPACK as our official launch to the public, as well as an offi- cial introduction of Jaka robots in the Australian market,” Quayle said.
“It is an excellent show that brings together the industry, and considering there hasn’t been any events in years, we are expecting better than average numbers of people turning up for this year’s show.
“Having been in the robotics and automation industry for several years, even prior to starting up Cobot, I know that AUSPACK often generates more leads for companies than most other shows, so we are really excited to see everyone at the show.” ■
