PRODUCT NEWS
COMPACT OXYGEN MEASUREMENT
THE new oxygen analyser from Michell Instruments has launched in Australia, aiming to provide accurate and cost-effective control of oxygen in safe area applications.
The lightweight XTP501 Oxygen Analyser uses tested thermo- paramagnetic technology for accuracy and stability in measurements, with its sensors requiring minimal maintenance as there are no consumable parts to replace.
WATER SAVING WASHDOWN
TECPRO’S latest washdown gun is a lightweight solution aiming to use around 26 per cent less water than regular washdown guns.
Available in stainless steel or a brass and stainless steel combination, the Blue Princess washdown gun has a nozzle tip designed to provide even water distribution and is simple to adjust. It provides a spray pattern without dripping to save on water, while also allowing the user to clean in tight corners or remove stubborn material.
The washdown gun uses less than
20 l/min of water at four bar, and can withstand temperatures up to 95 degrees Celsius, as well as maximum water pressures of up to 25 bar.
Created in a compact size, the Blue Princess has a rubber surface, trigger grip and comes with FDA approved EPDM seals.
LINX LAUNCHES NEW CODING INK
LINX Printing Technologies, represented in Australia by Matthews Australasia, has released a new ink designed to resist moisture, colour change, and transference.
Black retort ink 1077 was developed for Linx’s 8900 and 8800 Series continuous inkjet coders.
It is a dye-based MEK ink for use in typical sterilisation and wet retort process conditions.
According to Linx, its special formulation allows printers to code through a thin layer of oily film or grease.
The ink contains components that enhance its adhesion under moist and high-temperature conditions.
Linx bills the new ink as suitable for a variety of food packaging applications, including any products coded before cooking.
CENTRE EXPANDS
ROMER SOLUTIONS
DIAGNOSTICS solutions specialist Romer Labs has launched its APAC Solutions Centre in Singapore, expanding its analytical services, technical support and customised training programs.
It now serves the region with analytical services that cover gluten and the broadest range of allergenic analytes on the market. It brings augmented mycotoxin testing methods with screening services such as Multi-Mycotoxin Analysis 50+, which gives specific information on any of more than 50 mycotoxins in a sample in one report.
Romer Labs APAC managing director Yong Wee Liau said: “For years, we have prided ourselves on being an extension of our customers’ lab. With the Romer Labs APAC Solutions Centre, we aim to go beyond that by being with our customers every step of the way.”
Romer will also offer enhanced technical support, with sample validation, troubleshooting and insight into best practices. Its specialists provide advice to help customers remain productive and compliant with local and international regulations.
The APAC Solutions Centre is also introducing a new service to the region: customised training programs. Workshops, webinars and personalised instruction are all designed to adapt to how, where and how often customers test.
Romer Labs issues training certificates and other documentation necessary for audits and accreditations.
“The new centre has been designed with our customers’ needs in mind to help them meet their food safety goals,” Liau said.
The analyser comes in six ranges
– 0-1/21/25 per cent O2, and 20/80/90 to 100 per cent O2 – to suit a variety of application needs, including monitoring trace oxygen in inert gases, as well as ensuring oxygen purity when generated for us as an industrial gas.
The XTP501 has no moving parts or liquid components, meaning its oxygen sensors are robust and not affected by vibration or shocks.
“The XTP501 is a highly stable instrument at ±0.25 per cent of span per month and accurate to ±0.02 per cent O2, making it one of the best-performing analysers in its class,” Michell Instruments said.
It is also compact in size and suitable for indoor installation, and features a touchscreen interface for set up and use.
With a lightweight IP55-rated casing, the analyser is compact in size and can be easily installed.
Michell Instrument’s XTP501 Oxygen Analyser is suitable for indoor installation, and its IP55 case makes it “robust enough for most industrial safe-area conditions such as food and beverage production”.
Michell Instruments has 40 years’ experience in high precision sensing and serves a range of industries, including food processing.
Its equipment is distributed in Australia by AMS Instrumentation & Calibration.
