The striate anglerfish is common in Sydney Harbour, though very difficult to find due to their mastery of disguise. This one looked very comfortable nestled in its throne of sponge under a boat jetty in the Mosman area. These fish are very poor swimmers yet highly predatory; they sit very still for days on end waiting another unsuspecting fish to stray too close.
