the repairers appreciate her
genuineness and willingness
to help them grow their busi-
ness. “Her intelligence means
she is great at solving prob-
lems, helping customers or re-
solving any conflicts. Equally
she is a strong woman who
probably doesn’t even realise
what a role model she is be-
coming for female empower-
ment. We are lucky to have a
lady like this in our industry as
typically this kind of person
would end up in a corporate
environment.”

WORLDSKILLS CHAMP, ULTIMATE INDUSTRY AMBASSADOR: MAXINE COLLIGAN, RPM MILPERRA, NSW 2019 was truly Col-

WorldSkills Final in
Russia as well as

She is a tireless ambassador for the industry attending many out of hours events. “For me, repre- senting my trade at the WorldSkills International Championships in Kazan means that I get to represent other females in trades and show them that women can do anything men can do. I as- pire to convince young women out there to give it a go because they will always surprise themselves with their abilities.”
THE WHOLE PACKAGE, TECHNICIAN AND MANAGER: ALANA HINES COLOUR WORX, FORSTER, NSW
Hines has returned to the industry after maternity leave and spend- ing a few years as a sales rep. Her partner bought a small collision repair business and she decided to join him, growing the business and working together to achieve their goals. She managers the of- fice, completes all quotations and assessments of vehicle damage and works in the paint department undertaking prep, painting and detailing and overseeing quality control. She plans to study for an assessing qualification
and would eventually like
to become a trainer with-
in the industry. “Working
in a male dominated in-
dustry I receive many re-
marks about how won-
derful it is to see a lady
doing the work. I hope to
inspire and encourage
more women to take on
challenges. Women can
do anything they set their
mind to,” Hines said.
