Aus-first advanced plastics recycling trials underway: Victorian-based APR Plastics has successfully trialled running PE and PP through its advanced recycling system, transforming hard-to-recycle plastic waste into oil. APR would go on to be involved in the AFGC’s National Plastic Recycling Scheme, aiming to create a model for kerbside collection and sorting of soft plastic packaging for advanced recycling.

Major printing operation IVE is aim- ing to enter the packaging market in the near term, as the company saw all its figures rise in its full year results. Following a strategic review, IVE will now move more aggressively into the packaging sector, and is actively seek- ing an appropriate acquisition to expedite this strategy, with $30m-$40m allocated to fund this, and any other “earnings accretive opportunities.”
