Science-based UVC solution
STERIL-AIRE UVC SYSTEMS are highly effec- tive against viruses and will provide excellent pandemic protection against airborne threats.
Steril-Aire’s very high output UVC works by destroying the DNA and RNA of microorganisms and is therefore effective against all types of vi- ruses including Flu’s, Colds, Corona Virus/SARS, MERS, Measles and German Measles.

Much research has been undertaken around the world on UVC’s ability to inactivate Corona Virus- es including Covid-19. This research developed the required dosages to inactivate these pathogens.
This research has been confirmed recently by a group of Italian scientists from the National In- stitute for Astrophysics, Dept of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, Epidemiology and Prevention Unit, Dept of Pathophysiology who concluded that 3.7mJ/cm2 of UVC energy was sufficient to provide a 3 log reduction (99.9%).
For HVAC conditions we need to apply an in- activation formula of UVC Intensity x exposure time in air velocity and temperature to achieve sufficient dosage. Depending on the design and conditions within the Air Handling Unit this re- quires a dosage in the range of 7000 μJ/cm2 to 16000 μJ/cm2 of UVC energy to achieve a 99.9% inactivation in one pass of the UVC lamps.
Steril-Aire UVC solutions designed for air con- ditioning systems have consistently been found to be the highest intensity output of UVC of any commercially available products.
Steril-Aire also utilizes a software configura- tion tool that allows a customized solution to be easily configured and shows the intensity of UVC being generated in HVAC Conditions.
