HMPS and Propac Industrial
HMPS and Propac Industrial are two Australia-based packaging machinery businesses that joined forces in early 2020 under Mark Emmett’s control.
With sites in Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne they have Australia covered when it comes to packaging machinery. Both busi- nesses have been building machinery for over 30 years, they have installations throughout the APAC region and a sizable installation base in the US. The installation base of the businesses exceeds 1000 and this is growing exponentially each year.
Propac and HMPS have extensive knowl- edge of film and cardboard and collaborate with the customers to ensure that right mate- rial and design is selected. This ensures that the product that is presented to the end con- sumer is in the best possible condition and maximises marketing potential.
HMPS and Propac are long standing mem- bers of the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) and have benefitted from the support and co- operation that comes with membership in Australia’s packaging machinery association.
HMPS have won numerous awards for technological innovations over the years,

particularly in the food and beverage space. The company continues to strive to innovate to solve customer driven applications that have a real impact on the efficiency of Australian manufacturing. Both businesses offer machinery that is suited to not just food and beverage, but other sectors including whitegoods, agricultural, and adhesives, to name a few.
Recently, the HMPSVision application was launched. This is a diagnostic tool that allows automation engineers to improve the effi- ciency of HMPS, and soon Propac machin- ery, by assessing stored footage to assist in
machine adjustments. In addition to this, HMPS also offers HMPSConnect, a cloud- based software that monitors the perfor- mance and reports on the OEE of machinery to ensure that you get the most from your production schedule. These two applications have proved to be invaluable in the current climate and have enabled customers to save money and get immediate support.
HMPS and Propac are about to launch rental options for their equipment to reduce impact to cashflow, package machinery and support contracts into one monthly payment, reducing maintenance costs.
Both businesses are now able to provide turnkey solutions to customers, with the first such installation completed last month. The businesses continue to grow and expand their customer base while also maintaining a fantastic support network with service engi- neers available directly from Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne.
The future is bright for both businesses as they continue to put Australia first when it comes to employment, manufacturing, and support.
