Epson ColorWorks CW-C4010 compact, on-demand colour label printer offers comprehensive connectivity and dynamic image quality, ideal for the FMCG and pharma markets.
IN FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENTS where things shift on the fly, businesses demand dynamic label printing solutions to
help maximise the mobility and effi- ciency of operations.
Epson’s on-demand colour label printer, the ColorWorks CW-C4010, offers expanded connectivity and compatibility, improved image qual- ity, remote management tools, and increased ink capacity.
This model is engineered for mar- kets that require high-resolution image quality, durable colour labels and easy connectivity, such as food and beverage, retail, healthcare, and pharmaceutical.
The ColorWorks CW-C4010 is compatible with the gamut of major
middleware programs as well as ZPL II, SAP, Windows, Mac and Linux, allowing smooth integration with virtually any existing workflow. Plus, it has optional wi-fi connectivity.
To ensure labels have scannable barcodes, legible text and meet brand- ing requirements, the ColorWorks CW-C4010 delivers “exceptionally” crisp, photo-quality images, and barcodes and up to 1200 dpi resolution with variable droplet sizes. Its durable high-quality labels meet BS-5609 certification. It is dust- and water-resistant, and according to Epson, is engineered to withstand the pressures of high-duty-cycle and com- mercial environments, with a compact design to also suit small workspaces.

With “reliability and productiv- ity at the forefront”, the ColorWorks CW-C4010 is engineered with PrecisionCore technology to deliver a fast time to first label and speeds up to 4-inches per second, eliminating the need for pre-printed labels, says Epson.
Designed to be easy to operate and easy to manage, the new model has optional wi-fi connectivity to print from compatible devices and remote printer management via Epson Device Admin for managing large fleets over the network. ■
 Ocean Action label launched
UPM Raflatac has become the first company in the world to invest in Ocean Bound Plastics (OBP) waste as label raw material in its new Ocean Action labels.
UPM Raflatac says the label materi- als are a fit for FMCG products, such as household goods, personal care, pack- aged foods and beverages.
To make Ocean Action label a com- mercially successful product, UPM Raflatac has collaborated closely with multiple partners in the value chain.
Malaysian-based plastic recycling company HHI collects and sorts the OBP waste. The company has OBP cer- tification under the Zero Plastic Oceans program, which ensures the responsible sourcing, proper collection and man- agement of OBP waste.
HHI uses chemical recycling to con- vert the waste into pyrolysis oil, which is then used by manufacturer SABIC to create high-quality PP plastic granulate. The PP granulate is converted by film manufacturer Taghleef Industries into label film used to produce the final label material by UPM Raflatac.
The plastic waste used in the value chain of making OBP label material is certified under the Zero Plastics Oceans program, and the final label material under ISCC Plus. ■
THE OCEAN ACTION label material is the latest step in UPM Raflatac’s ‘beyond fossils’ journey, according to Eliisa Laurikainen, business develop- ment manager at UPM Raflatac.
“It does not only help prevent the plastic waste from ending up in the oceans, but also offers brand owners the possibility of meeting their recycled content targets for packaging,” Laurikainen says.
“The Ocean Action label material is an easy-to-use, drop-in solution cre- ated especially for food and cosmetics end-uses, as it has exactly the same per- formance as the current fossil-based labels,” Laurikainen adds.
The Ocean Action label material is available as White and Clear Top Coated PP films with RP37, RF37 and RP74 adhesives, and PET 23 PCR and glassine liners.
