  AHU air filters neutralise viruses
PACIFIC VENTILATION, A wholly-owned subsidiary of Systemair AB Group Sweden, a global ventilation company, and Deltrian, a lead- ing Belgian filter manufacturer, have joined forc- es to launch a new generation of virucidal filters for air handling units (AHUs).
The DELTRI+ filters are Eurovent Certified and contain advanced plasma technology ca- pable of neutralising or destroying 99 per cent of all viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, as tested by the Luxembourg Institute of Sci- ence and Technology.
The filters are already available in most of Eu- rope and many other markets worldwide and will now be available in Australia and New Zea- land exclusively from Pacific Ventilation.
With the DELTRI+, building owners can quickly improve existing units before consider- ing more extensive upgrades to their ventila- tion systems.

Compared with other methods utilised for virus prevention, the DELTRI+ filters offer a more straightforward solution that is easy to apply and manage. Furthermore, for facility managers, the filters enable additional safety when exchanged.
Jurgen Alexius, owner and CCO, Deltrian, said the company is proud to cooperate with one of the world’s leading ventilation companies in launching DELTRI+.
“Systemair AB Group’s technical expertise and long-term market knowledge have proven invaluable in the development of this solu- tion,” he said.
“We are delighted to say that DELTRI+ can capture and inactivate viruses. Its effectivity is proven in dry and wet environments, open and closed circuits alike. In addition, the filters re- duce the risk of transmission and proliferation of viruses and bacteria in the air.
DELTRI+ filters are Eurovent Certified
“While it does not replace other preventive measures, we consider it a hands-on contribu- tion to support a return to a more normal life.”
Peter Gibson, managing director, Pacific Ven- tilation, said operators do not need to worry about significantly increasing energy costs with this solution.
“Despite its virucidal functions and being classified ISO16890 ePM1 90 per cent, the fil- ter holds a Eurovent Certified Performance A+ energy class rating, ensuring a low-pres- sure drop and market-leading dust holding capacity with the best possible energy effi- ciency,” Gibson said.
Pacific Ventilation is the only HVAC manufac- turer in Australia or New Zealand to offer air fil- ters with DELTRI+ as replacement filters in standard and special sizes for existing AHUs, in- dependent from their brand.

Right formula for a robust weld
RECTORSEAL, A WHOLLY-OWNED subsidi- ary of CSW Industrials, has released enhanced solvent cements and primers in a wide variety of sizes and formulas for welding PVC, CPVC, and ABS pipe installations.
RectorSeal primers properly etch the pipe surfac- es to ensure a consistent and robust weld every time. Several RectorSeal primers are now ATSM F656, LEED, and NSF 61 Certified, including Jim
PR-1L, Clear PR-2L, and Bill PR-3.
Jim PR-1L is a fast-acting, high-etch, purple
primer for PVC and CPVC pipe, tubing, and sock- et-type fittings.
Low-VOC, LEED Compliant, and NSF approved for potable water systems, and it offers a shelf life of
up to three years. Its purple colour ensures an easy visual check to ensure complete coverage.
Clear PR-2L offers similar features as Jim PR-1L but is transparent. Bill PR-3 is also a clear primer that etches and penetrates surfaces, increases the bonding strength on PVC and CPVC systems, and helps to make a clean, professional-looking joint. Manufactured from high-quality 100 per cent vir- gin materials, it has a shelf life of up to two years.
In addition, Arctic 616L and Gold 844L are now reformulated, offering an improved viscous for- mula designed to provide a smoother application and stronger bond.
