ABC Filling consolidates on NSW Central Coast
Pienaar re-elected as WPO president
WELL-KNOWN Australian packag- ing industry figure Pierre Pienaar has been re-elected to serve a second four-year term as World Packaging Organisation (WPO) president.
Joining him on his executive team from Australia is Nerida Kelton, Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) executive director, in the role of VP Sustainability and Save Food.
Pienaar is an industry veteran with more than 30 years’ experi- ence in the packaging industry. He has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of packaging education and training around the world – as AIP education director and in more recent years as the presi- dent of the WPO.
CONTRACT manufacturer Austra- lian Beverage Contract (ABC) Filling will consolidate its operations at its Lisarow site on the Central Coast after receiv- ing a $1.8m grant through the New South Wales government’s Regional Investment Attrac- tion Fund.
ABC Filling managing direc- tor Andrew Mawdsley told PKN it was a great step for the
company, which would benefit from having all its operations consolidated under the one roof to streamline processes and pro- vide the best possible service.
The grant will help the com- pany establish a new facility at Lisarow with a food and bever- age manufacturing plant, research laboratory, distribu- tion centre, a restaurant and bar, brewery tours, education
facilities, conference centre and a manufacturing plant to produce hand sanitiser and disinfectant.
Mawdsley said, “We are one of Australia’s most flexible bever- age manufacturers in the coun- try, working with very small start-ups just getting off the ground, to manufacturing for multinationals and then export- ing directly from our site.”
