Chobani moves to flip-top on new range
Chobani has moved to flip-top packs on its new FiT X range of high- protein yoghurts. PKN asked managing director Peter Meek why.
HE FiT X range, which has no added sugar and high protein, includes a number of dry ingre- dients to mix in with the yo- ghurt. The in-mould label pack was supplied by PakPot and foil lid from The Van Dyke Press.
According to Peter Meek, managing director, the FiT X range was crafted with functional eaters at front of mind.
“We know that when 3pm rolls around, functional eaters still have the same sweet cravings as every- one else, and with the growing pop- ularity of the FiT range we knew there was an opportunity to provide something unique to the market.
“The flip format separates the yo- gurt from the dry ingredients and
allows snackers to flip the mix-ins into the yogurt at the time of con- sumption, giving them the perfect punch of crunch,” he says.
Chobani has also factored sustain- ability into the pack design, which does not use the carbon black colour pigment, according to Meek.
“Although this came at an extra cost to the business, we understood the importance of making one hun- dred per cent of FiT X packaging re- cyclable,” he says.
The Chobani FiT X range is available on Woolworths and Coles shelves now. It includes the Vanilla Cookie Crush; Strawberry Choc Hit; Tropical Fruit Smash; Mint Choc Crunch; Banana Peanut Punch; and Raspberry Coco Blast flavours. ■
The Fit X flip-top pack caters to convenience. The in-mould labelled (IML) pack was supplied by PakPot, and the foil lid by The Van Dyke Press.
