                                Care A2+ joins formula mission
AUSTRALIAN health and wellness company Care A2+ has become the third Australian company to supply infant formula to the US, after securing USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval to distribute its products.
Care A2+ will deliver up to 4.8 million tins of formula to help offset the ongoing US infant formula crisis.
It joins Bubs Australia and Bellamy’s in sending supplies. Beston Global Foods Group said its Lactoferrin sales also benefited from the shortage.
In Australia, CareA2+ sells through major retailers including Woolworths, Terry White Chemart and Chemist Warehouse.
The FDA granted ‘no objection’ approval to Care A2+ on 8 July, certifying the Australian-made formula meets standards set by the FDA. Shipments are expected to begin from the first week
of August.
First orders have been received for more than 250,000 tins to be distributed through 20,000 retail stores across the US, including CVS & Rite Aid Drug Stores, Whole Foods Market, Kroger, HCA Healthcare, Publix Super Markets, Safeway, The Vitamin Shoppe, Duane Reade Convenience Store and Peapod Online Grocer.
Care A2+ director Kerry Hyland said the company was proud to be playing a part in addressing the shortage. ✷
