ONE of the many things embraced by the food and beverage sector is innovation, and the growth of personalised nutrition is a prime example. Our annual trends forecast in January ranked it the third biggest trend to watch.
Our Rising Star feature this issue (page 8) is a fine example of this market. Meal delivery company Be Fit Food is collaborating with genetic testing company myDNA, and with backing from CSIRO, offering four
meal plan variations depending on a customer’s genetic markers. And still on innovation, Will Brook – son of Pam and Martin Brook, who forged the premium muesli category in Australia with
Brookfarm – is now not only leading the family business, but launching another. His functional food brand We, the many, is as much about sustainability as it is human health, with Brook creating a business model that will see 50 per cent of profits sent to verified projects reducing carbon.
