SMART REPAIR AUSTRALIA
Due to huge amounts
of ground moisture from a very wet end to 2022 we will transition out of La Nina to a hot sum- mer crammed full of dangerous hail storms. Early months of 2023 Austral- ia will see some of the worst hail
storms in its history.
Training will become more valuable
than ever before as technology in motor vehicles continues to rapidly increase.

A psychosocial hazard is simply a business’ workplace culture and as countries move to
legislate against these hazards it will create the largest change in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) in decades.
Australian government is using 2022 to put together the compliance frame-
work all businesses will need to follow in 2023. This means if an incident (physical or non-physical) occurs at a business they will face prosecution if it’s proven a psychosocial hazard con- tributed to the incident. Currently, psychosocial hazards are present in over 95% of incidents worldwide. In other words a poor WHS culture was in part to blame.
If panel shop does not appropriately address their psychosocial hazards or even worse, ignores them, they will have little defence against a civil, stat- utory, or criminal action brought against them. If a panel shop is active- ly using Monit then don’t worry, we al- ready have psychosocial hazards cov- ered.

“Repairers and the industry as a whole out of necessity will have to strengthen, will have to recover costs for the training and equipment re- quired to meet the needs of the cur- rent technology advancement.
“Supply chain manufacturing has to stabilise which we have not seen yet, For the parts issues to ease
“Skills will remain an issue for all interested parties. Including all in- dustries that source from the repair sector — assessing, parts interpret- ers, trainers.”

“The economic cli- mate on its way will have an impact on
the viability of some repairers. Poli- cyholders will think twice about get- ting a repair if they have a high ex- cess. Parts supply will be an issue for another 12 months. Skills short- ages will increase and there will be an influx of skilled migrants.”
