    AWARD WINNING CARDLINE 7000
Trimatt Systems recently won the APMMA Australian Machinery Manufacturing Award – SME for the CardLine 7000.
The CardLine 7000 is a high-performance solution
for attaching and matching cards, booklets and vouchers
to paper carriers and suited
to the printing and packaging industries, although not exclusive. CR80, PIO, Sim cards, gift cards, loyalty cards and others can all be automated
to help improve efficiency
and accuracy through camera inspection and validation systems. This machine applies digital gluing and folding techniques, to deliver fully integrated card packaging.
In terms of sustainability – through accuracy – there is
up to 50 per cent less waste
to landfill, therefore 50 per cent less materials required to achieve the same result through traditional methods. This also means less materials needed
to produce – creating a profit margin that means a company can operate more competitively and still be able to reinvest in automation for further savings. The machine uses UV cured inkjet printers, known to be much better for the environment than solvent-based inks.
REAL WINNER
“The real winner here is the reduced carbon footprint,” Trimatt director Matt Johnson says. “The CardLine 7000 is reducing labour by up to a staggering 90 per cent and there is a significant reduction in energy required to produce a finished package, reducing carbon emissions.”
Since the first installation in Indonesia, an additional 20 machines have been installed in Australia and internationally. Johnson says, “The design and development of this packaging machine has proven to be reliable and versatile for users. Our clients tell us of how they are winning new business because of the solutions and support provided by Trimatt.
                Innovation
  Trimatt provides inhouse label solutions
The innovative Aussie solutions developer is enabling label print businesses to keep more work, and more margin, inhouse.
Award winning Trimatt has developed a range of products that enable printers to add value to downstream tasks that they may once have sent out to third parties to finish.
Matt Johnson, owner and director at Trimatt, says, “Since our inception in 2005, we have evolved into the value added component of print finishing, it is our pride and passion.
“We strongly believe our range of products delivered to our customers adds value to printed media. So the whole idea for us is to help print companies profit from finishing and value added tasks. We believe printers should keep the work inhouse, to increase the profitability on their work.”
Two particular tried and true Trimatt System products installed
by leading Australian label print businesses are its own back numbering system, and the Domino K600i inkjet, for overprinting labels.
According to Trimatt, back numbering is an important part
of production for manufacturing industries wanting to reconcile each label processed in their facility. Label printers typically add the
Trimatt Inkjet system to the rewinding process, so each label has a sequential number printed on the liner. Then the labels are supplied
to the end user, with the ability to account for every label supplied.
Johnson told Labels21, “Trimatt Systems’ back numbering system, was designed to keep it simple, using proven technology with cartridge-based heads, which are easy to use, flexible, modular and an affordable inkjet system, that delivers real value for money. It allows you to undertake pharma back numbering far easier, and gives the converter the flexibility for overprinting jobs that might normally go offline. It
also allows you to use water or solvent-based inks, and you have the capability of two programmable outputs – for errors or end-of-file.”
The Domino K600i variable data inkjet system, exclusive to Trimatt, offers versatile, cost effective and greener UV inks for overprinting QR codes, Barcodes, expiry dates, any personalisation on labels. It
is designed for sheetfed or web – printing onto labels, tags, tickets, forms, security products and
direct mail. “It’s so versatile”, says Johnson. “Simple and productive.” 21
