AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE APPAREL WINS LOAD CARRIAGE EQUIPMENT CONTRACT
VICTORIA-BASED company Australian De- fence Apparel (ADA) has been awarded a contract to supply the ADF with addition- al Load Carriage Equipment.
The contract utilises an existing deed arrangement, which will see ADA contin- ue to supply the ADF.
“Over the recent past, the ADF has seen the delivery of modernised capability for the individual soldier,” Defence said in a state- ment. “This has included enhancements to items such as body armour, combat helmets, and individual load carriage equipment.
“The individual soldier system with this collective equipment is known as the Sol- dier Combat Ensemble. This is part of the continuous sustainment and modernisa- tion of soldier load carriage equipment, evolving it to respond to emerging threats to the ADF combatant.”
ADA CEO Chris Dixon recently spoke to ADM about how the business is rapidly changing.
“We have broadened from a manufac- turing business that focuses on defence procurement to a provider of integrated uniform and equipment solutions,” Dixon said. “We are leveraging technological advancements from other markets, like emergency and health services, to improve our offerings to Defence.” ■
