The APPMA Awards of Excellence is the national awards program for Australia’s packaging and processing industry, recognising excellence, innovation, leadership and best practice.
Winners in each of the eight categories were announced in front of a sold-out room, which was a fitting way to celebrate the best in Australia’s manufacturing industry.
The presentation ceremony turned into a momentous evening after a busy day on the show floor, and everyone was in high spirits.
“After being postponed from last year, the much-anticipated event was a resounding success and wonderful celebration of the industry’s achievements,” said APPMA chairman Mark Dingley.
It was a night to remember on many levels, with attendees sharing a poignant moment when, during the acceptance speech for the Community Contribution Award, Foodmach CEO Earle Roberts paid tribute to the late Peter Marks who was instrumental in developing the technology for, and delivering, the Med-Con project.
THE 2022 AWARD WINNERS
The Australian Machinery Manufacturing Award, sponsored by SMC, had two categories, one for SMEs and one for corporates (over $10m turnover). In the SME category, Trimatt Systems took the top award for its CardLine 7000 solution for the automated attachment of cards, booklets and vouchers to carriers.
In the corporate category, Fibre King won for its Little Packer, a game-changing case packing machine for the craft beer industry.
The Import & Distribution Machinery Award was also awarded in SME and Corporate categories, recognising innovation and success in imported equipment launched in Australia in the past three years. In the SME category, Packsize was the victor for the M1: Global Modular Architecture and Advanced Functionality equipment, while Foodmach won in the Corporate category for the Mengibar MassFlow Filler-Capper.
