       Leading ANZ display business Billboard Media has just installed a trio of new EFI VUTEk Q5r roll- to-roll printers to take the company forward. Wayne Robinson reports.
Billboard goes big with trio
of EFI VUTEk Q5r printers
Celebrating 40 years
in business this year, Billboard Media has always had a commitment to progress as one of its key
strategies.
Its milestone year proves the
point, with a new management team in place, and a trio of new five-metre wide EFI VUTEk Q5r printers now pumping out 2000 sqm of print each hour between them, joining the
dozen existing printers at the go- ahead company.
Current owner Randal Shreeve established a Melbourne signwriting operation back in 1982. He then identified a gap in the digital printing market, creating Billboard Media
and investing in one of the first large format digital machines in Australia. Since then, the company has grown
consistently, thanks to Shreeve’s policy of reinvesting in the business to bring the best talent and equipment
on board. Today it is one of the largest sign and display businesses in the region, serving a growing number of customers across Australia and New Zealand, with its 60 plus staff working both day and afternoon shifts.
Chief operating officer Mat Walker says, “Through aggressive strategic investment, Billboard Media has gone from strength to strength, to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of the digital print and cut industry. We have maintained a close watch
