                Welcome to Labels21
Comment
The labels printing sector has enjoyed
a strong two years, and there is more
to come. Opportunities for label printers will continue to grow, as legislative, brand and consumer dynamics will inevitably drive demand. Opportunities for other printers to enter labels, and ride this growth are rapidly increasing, thanks to the digitisation of technology.
For these reasons Print21, the ANZ commercial print industry’s leading, largest and most engaged trade media, has decided to launch Labels21. We want to bring the same level of engaging content to the labels sector
that commercial printers enjoy. In a sector that has been under-served by trade media, Labels21 will deliver compelling, engaging, relevant information, comment and analysis
on labels markets, the technology and its people.
This issue is a case in point, with in-depth features from some of the world’s leading graphic arts journalists, including Gareth Ward from Print Business, David Pittman from Digital Labels and Packaging, and Andy Thomas- Eaves from Labels & Labelling.
We also highlight the technology that would have lit up Labelexpo had the show gone ahead. We will have
to wait another 18 months for the Brussels version , although the Chicago event should go ahead in September.
The standard of label printing in Australia and New Zealand is without doubt outstanding, and testimony
to the hard work and talent
of all in the industry. We acknowledge all the winners at the FPLMA Awards below, and highlight some of the best work the industry produces in our Labels Excellence feature.
I trust you find this issue of Labels21 lives up to our expectations, I look forward to your valuable feedback.
