Events are back for 2022, with all the big expos in the Print21 Diary.
GDP is now above pre-pandemic levels as household spending shot up by 6.3 per cent, with hospitality and recreation the big winners, as people are allowed to leave their houses again.
However, nothing in life is plain sailing, and there are many dark clouds seeking to block the view of the sunny uplands. These are conspiring in a shipping crisis which has become front page news, and that has our industry suppliers working overtime to ensure printers are supplied with all they need.
Print business owners and managers are well advised to ensure they are on top of supply. JIT may be great in a free-flowing global economy, but in today’s world of shipping crisis, war, strikes, and the lingering impact of Covid, it is not so easy to achieve, and you don’t want to be caught short.
Print is a dynamic world, constantly evolving, with business owners and managers needing to have their wits about them to navigate past the rocks, hidden and visible, and catch the favourable trade winds. This issue of Print21 is here to help with that navigation, through numerous features.
We especially welcome the launch of Labels21, within the magazine, designed to bring much needed intelligent, engaging, and informative content to the labels sector, which is offering myriad opportunities to all.
The printer profiles in this issues give an insight into some of the strategies that successful businesses are pursuing. Investment in technology, introducing sustainable practices, and looking at new models of business are common threads.
Having managed to get through the past two years print businesses are well placed to capitalise on the undoubted opportunities that will emerge post-Covid. We trust this issue of Print21 will help inform your decisions.
