                Die-cutting
The C version of the machine features a die-cutting station, while the CS version comes equipped with an additional stripping station, which allows for the mechanical removal of internal waste, lateral edges and the rear edge of the sheet (depending on the sheet layout).
According to Dierk Wissmann, Heidelberg national sales manager
– Australia, a standout feature of the Easymatrix is its wide range of processable materials, making it appealing to straightforward folding carton producers, and suitable for classic commercial applications.
Additional perks of the system he says, include its attractive price-performance ratio, GS certification, and the fact that it can be customised as required, along with the sales and service provided by Heidelberg’s professionally trained and experienced staff.
In terms of market trends, Wissmann has identified an increase in the demand for short runs, and on-demand, by small and medium businesses, along with the need to replace inefficient die- cutters as labour costs rise.
According to Wissmann, the Easymatrix 106 C/CS addresses these trends.
Koenig & Bauer:
Cutpro Q series
The Cutpro Q series is the new generation of 760 x 1060 die cutting machines manufactured by Koenig & Bauer Iberica, which includes a complete range of optional equipment.
The versatility of the Cutpro Q series offers the ability to die cut different types of substrates including paper, plastic, cardboard and corrugated material and the model is consistent with the look across the brand.
Dave Lewis, managing director
of Koenig & Bauer ANZ, says that a standout feature of Koenig & Bauer’s cutters is that they are made by the press manufacturer itself, and that they are all consistent in design.
Along with this, he says, is the fact that they are connected back to Europe via diagnostic software for troubleshooting.
Concerning market trends, Lewis has observed a greater need for more efficient die-cutters, as bottlenecks between press and die cutters are common.
Another trend, he says, is that folding carton has become a buoyant market. Lewis
