EFI says its Pro 24f and Pro 30f printers are strategic choices for printers producing graphic arts,
art reproductions, membrane switches, graphic overlays – and other specialty applications – as well as overflow printing, and where precision and fine-detail, image quality, and speed are critical to meeting customers’ demands.
The Pro 30f also features power app printing capabilities that can further increase the application offering, including the ability to print on materials up to 10cm thick, double- sided printing, textured printing, duplication and nesting, printing
on lenticular lenses and jig printing. These give users more versatility to produce specialty applications – such as textured wall coverings, custom wood furniture and other interior décor applications. 21
Both use the company’s proprietary Ultradrop Technology to print onto an enormous range of substrates, up to 100mm thick.
The 3x2m LED UV EFI Pro 30f features six channels, comprising CMYK plus double white. The ink is delivered through a dozen Ricoh Gen 5 UltraDrop printheads, which have variable drop size of 7-12 picolitres. The flatbed printer can chew through 210sqm an hour.
The Pro 30f is double its smaller brother’s bed size and offers virtually double the output and twice the maximum media thickness.
The EFI Pro 24f and EFI Pro 30f are designed for commercial print businesses and sign shops seeking
a flatbed architecture and more application possibilities. EFI says they deliver precise, high-quality, variable-drop grayscale imaging, for applications requiring discerning image quality, and absolute dot placement accuracy.
The printers come standard with white ink and multi-layer printing and also feature EFI UltraDrop Technology, which EFI says, along with precision dot placement,
offers better colour gradients and smoothing capability. The printers also offer the EFI Prographics UV ink series, including the newly launched

their profit opportunity by offering more premium-margin jobs, while reducing operating costs and their environmental footprint.
According to EFI, its LED technology extends the range of supported substrates, including lower cost and added-value specialty media; increases uptime and productivity with instant on/off and less maintenance; drives down operating costs with less energy consumption and fewer consumable parts; reduces waste with consistent colour output and simple operation; and satisfies customer requests for a greener print solution with low VOCs, lower power consumption, and less waste and consumables.
The six-zone, user-selectable vacuum system ensures efficient hold-down, no unintended media movement, and easy transitions between jobs. A new magnetic linear drive control and high-volume ink jetting at an accurate level support productivity. The GUI is intuitive with the layout of the media on
the flatbed, and also enables easy printing of multiple copies (nesting) and double-sided applications.
