BAE Systems Australia has again taken out the top spot with $1.24 billion in turnover, up 7.6 per cent from last year. “There is no doubt that 2020 has provided challenges on a number of fronts,” BAE Systems Australia CEO Gabby Costigan said to ADM. “On the back on catastrophic bush- fires and then COVID, it has been important to keep people safe while continuing to deliver across all 200 defence pro- grams that BAE Systems is providing to the ADF – includ- ing the ramping up of the Hunter Class Frigate Program and
the upgrade of the Jindalee Operational Radar Network. “Looking forward, defence programs will play an impor- tant role driving economic growth as we recover from the pandemic, providing much needed jobs and opportunities for Australian business. My goal is to emerge from 2020 with a business that is stronger, more resilient and better
prepared for future challenges,” Costigan concluded.
The Top 20 SMEs also saw healthy growth growing from last year’s $877.58 million to crack the billion mark at $1.12 billion, an impressive 26 per cent in growth after
only 12 months.
