Companies listed are the top 10 companies by turnover as seen in ADM's Top 40 survey. For both years, Airbus declined to provide information.
Based on data from ADM’s Top 40 De- fence Contractors survey, ADM has been able to develop some interesting numbers around diversity in action.
First published in our March 2016 edition, we looked at the state of play for women on the top 10 com- panies as seen on the list that year (December 2015/January 2016).
To recap, these figures can be seen on the left hand side of the in- fographic above.
Fast forward to 2019 and the land- scape isn’t that much different.
The headline at that time was
‘Women missing in Defence Industry management’.
Perhaps this snapshot, provided on the right with the top 10 companies from the latest Top 40 survey, could be called ‘Women STILL missing in Defence Industry management’.
Some companies have slipped since the last time ADM checked in.
This can be due to a few differ- ent reasons but the most common seems to the expansion of board numbers and new appointees have been men.
There are now two companies that
have no representation from women in Broadspectrum and Rheinmetall Defence Australia.
Once again, ADM will be collecting data on the diversity of the Defence industry workforce (percentage of fe- males and indigenous action plans) in the Top 40 Defence Contractors sur- vey, with survey forms due to go out next month.
