WANDERING WARRIORS AND POST-SERVICE STUDY SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE NOW
PARTNERING from June 2015, Wan- dering Warriors and the University of Queensland Business School have pro- vided MBA scholarships annually to retiring ADF personnel, enhancing the post-service prospects of selected veter- ans as they transition back to civilian life.
In each year since, many fine veter- ans have benefitted from this gener- ous arrangement with University of
Queensland Business School.
Our latest graduates completed their
studies in February 2021, with a new co- hort of five veterans to begin their stud- ies shortly.
Chief Executive of Wandering War- riors, Quentin Masson, says that “of the four programs run by Wandering War- riors – Education, Employment, Respite and Mentoring – education continues to
be our primary focus and our most suc- cessful endeavour.
“In 2019, the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales also offered Wan- dering Warriors two full time, tuition- free MBA scholarships. We have since seen a number of graduates pass through the program,” he said.
Other initiatives were well underway to provide a national offering to veterans, including signing an agreement with the Melbourne Business School for scholar- ship kicking off shortly, and ongoing dis- cussions with James Cook University and the Australian Catholic University.
“MANY FINE VETERANS HAVE BENEFITTED FROM THIS GENEROUS ARRANGEMENT WITH UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND BUSINESS SCHOOL”
Wandering Warriors are also working closely with like-minded organisations such as The Commando Welfare Trust, specifically with respect to the Comman- do Welfare Trust Veterans’ Scholarship Program, established with the endow- ment by Lockheed Martin Australia, by assisting with the selection, recruitment and coordinating efforts for the all par- ticipants.
“The quality of the veterans undertak- ing studies has driven the success and ex- pansion of the Wandering Warriors edu- cation program, something that has been acknowledged by our tertiary partners,” Brett Sangster, Chair of Wandering War- riors said to ADM.
“We at Wandering Warriors knew our veterans were going to become success stories, and we continue to believe in as- sisting veterans in ways that are real and tangible. Higher learning is one vehicle for post-service success.”
