sion, including Taryn Cornell, senior manager for Green Star strategy and development at the Green Building Council of Australia.
Cornell recently launched the GBCA’s A Prac- tical Guide to Electrification for New Buildings and is working on a similar guide for existing buildings, as well as a discussion paper for grid integrated buildings.
She’s also a member of CIBSE’s Australia and theTM65 working group, which aims to decar- bonise products in the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic services sector.
The second speaker is Jorge Chapa, head of market transformation at the Green Building Council of Australia.
As the head of market transformation, Chapa is responsible for ensuring the GBCA's product and service offerings deliver healthy, resilient and positive places for people and nature.
This includes setting the vision for Green Star, Australia’s leading rating system for the built environment. He is the chair of World GBC’s Global Commitment for Net Zero Car- bon Buildings Taskforce. He is also a member of Climate Bonds Initiative building standards working group.
 UPFRONT CARBON EMISSIONS
represent around 20 per cent of all emissions from a new building.
Unlike operational emissions, up- front carbon emissions are spent on the day the building opens which means it cannot change.
Industry has made great strides to decarbonise its operational carbon,
from energy efficiency measures to electrifica- tion but the same cannot be said for upfront car- bon emissions.
The situation is made worse because little is

JDPOWER HAS WORKED with the needs of the domestic and com- mercial Air Conditioning (HVAC) in- dustry to produce a wide range of products that suit HVAC needs. We value innovation, quality, and service, and as such, we produce long-lasting products with the aim of effectively filling a niche in any industry we ca- ter to. For the HVAC industry in par- ticular, we specifically noticed a need to lift domestic units from 3 to 4.9 me- tres, and have developed a variety of lifters to suit. Our lifters are compact, portable, adjustable and/or electric, for ease of transport and maneuvera-

Recent developments out of the UK and Australia aim to change this through the introduction of TM65 and the work
being done in Green Star and NABERS.

bility to a variety of job sites. Our products meet with OH&S require- ments, ensuring a safe environment for workers.
We have been an integral part of the HVAC industry since the release of our initial CM340 portable lifter. The CM340 remains useful for domestic and smaller commercial operators. It is constructed with heat-treated, robust aluminum, requires no tools for setup, and is fitted with safety mechanisms. Our assortment of products has only increased since, suiting a wide range of work demands.
