Xeikon
to show UV inkjet Panther
Digital print pioneer Xeikon will have a live inkjet label press on the PacPrint 2022 floor, with a Panther PX3300 pumping out print during the expo, which takes place in Melbourne at the end of June.
NEW NAME COMING TO SHOW EPRODUCTIVITY SOFTWARE
ONE of the new names at PacPrint will be eProductivity Software – which was the former EFI software division, now under new ownership.
The business, which included MIS, ERP and W2P, has become a substantial operation over the years, as the company acquired a plethora of developers around the world and merged them into one entity. It now has 4,000 printers as customers around the world working in everything from packaging, display graphics, corrugated, labels, commer- cial, and publications.
Daniel Aloi, senior regional sales manager APAC says, “The establishment of eProductiv- ity Software is great news for the business and the industry.”
He adds, “Now, as a fully-fledged stand- alone software business dedicated to print, packaging and corrugated, we will be able develop new partnerships, strengthen relations with all industry vendors, and contribute fully to the growth and development of the industry,”
Aloi says everything has remained as is for ANZ customers, with the same contact details, same staff and same support systems in place. Aloi stays as regional sales manager, with Brad Hall remaining as operations manager. Globally, the R&D centres in the UK, US and India will remain.
As a provider solely focused on purpose-built software for packaging and print industries, eProductivity Software says it develops best-in-class segment-based technology “to simplify your operations, remove ‘islands of automation’ to increase your efficiency, and grow into new markets while maximising your investments through scalable, integrated productivity suites”.
The company has solutions for packaging, commercial, POS, corrugated, label printing, publication printing and quick/inplant printing.
KNOWN for its toner-based digital print solutions, Xeikon is now also a major player in inkjet technology, which PacPrint visitors will see live and in action at the expo, with a new Panther PX3300 printing labels for the dura- tion of the show.
Xeikon will also be highlighting its new digital corrugated press, the Idera, with samples on the stand, and will be featuring its graphic arts solu- tions, as well as its toner-based label and packaging printers.
The company launched the Panther PX3300 six months ago, as the second generation in its inkjet range, which is focused on applications such as durables – labels for the industrial, chemical, agri-chem sectors and the like, and is also aimed at label businesses running ageing flexo or let- terpress machines, which are looking at the next investment, and working with smaller run lengths.
Xeikon says the new Panther 2.0 series also offers new opportuni- ties for label printers to expand their applications portfolio. It says its new robust substrate handling technology features a new splice table, web detec- tion capability, and cooled roller at the curing section. This makes it pos- sible to print high-quality labels on a wider choice of substrates, includ- ing clear-on-clear facestock, which requires a high-quality opaque white to make the design stand out. Both presses can be configured with a fifth print station for white ink, and can print on a wide range of self-adhesive
media in addition to clear-on-clear, including coated paper, vinyl, PP, PE, PET, and metallised.
Xeikon says the PX2200 and PX3300 presses leverage the advan- tages of dedicated PantherCure UV inks, which meet the demands from brand owners for high-gloss, dura- ble labels with high scuff resistance. The company says Panther DuraCure UV technology produces high-gloss effects and stands out across the widest colour gamut, while deliver- ing long-term durability for multiple applications such as industrial, chem- ical and household labels, as well as high-end labels for the premium beer, spirit, beverage and health & beauty market sectors.
Driven by the Xeikon X-800 dig- ital front end, the company says the new Panther UV inkjet presses offer print quality in combination with industry leading productivity. The cloud connectivity is achieved through the X-800, providing access to both machine data and job data, for instance ink consumption, and printing time. The latest generation of Xeikon’s X-800 enables myriad applications on the Panther series, such as haptic printing. This tactile layer of white delivers the sought- after embellishing effect inline with full colour printing for designing labels with enhanced tactility and luxury feel. ■
