                 MACHINERY MATTERS
AUSPACK success and onwards to APPEX
 CONNECT WITH APPMA
There are various ways to stay in touch with APPMA, including our website appma.com.au and social media.
Welcome to our third edition of Machinery Matters for 2022, brought to you by the APPMA in an exclusive partnership with PKN Packaging News and Food & Drink Business.
What a week we had at AUSPACK 2022. After a very nervous and unpredictable six months in the lead-up to our flagship event, we could not have hoped for a better result. With a record number of Australian-based companies exhibiting at the largest post-COVID exhibition, and a record amount of working machinery on the show floor, the four-day AUSPACK reinforced the value of trade shows, and the industry’s passion for such events. From day one, the volume and quality of visitors to the event exceeded the targeted numbers with that trend continuing for the following three days, which was validated with very positive exhibitor feedback during the show.
APPMA AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE AND GALA
In conjunction with AUSPACK, the sell-out Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner was a fantastic night with Tim Campbell and his band able to get the usually reserved audience up off their seats and dancing in the aisles. Congratulations to all the award winners and finalists; it was heartening to see that this year’s updated awards program attracted a record number of submissions and a very high standard of entries into the competition.
I would also like to thank the judges for volunteering their time. The judging panel had representation from APPMA strategic partners and
industry bodies including AMGC, FFWCRC, APCO, Yaffa Media, RMIT and AFGC, ensuring independence and integrity of the awards program.
APPEX 2024
IS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED
The sell-out Gala Dinner also provided the ideal forum to officially announce the launch of APPEX 2024 – Australasian Processing and Packaging Expo, a high-international standard, all-of-industry exhibition. This is not just a rebranding of our trade show, APPEX is the outcome of 12 months of planning and industry consultation resulting in the conception of an expo that is truly designed to represent all sectors of the industry, including processing and packaging machinery, ancillary equipment, materials and packaging, food processing and industry services.
APPEX will deliver a comprehensive range of all processing and packaging equipment and services under one roof, run by the industry, for the industry. For more information on how your business can participate, contact the APPMA management team, or the team at show organiser Exhibitions & Trade Fairs.
So, with a successful and final AUSPACK behind us, we are now beginning to work toward APPEX 2024. In between time, I look forward to catching up with our members at our other APPMA and industry networking events.
