ASRG is committed to the growth of Australian sovereign shipbuilding and repair capabilities
OPERATING prior to WW11 and officially established in 1963, ASRG represents Australian companies involved in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry sectors. ASRG facilitates Defence and industry engagement and is recog- nised at all levels of Government in Australia.
ASRG provides:-
• Representation to Defence-related Government committees
etc, for security, environmental, WHS and other issues.
• The ASRG Dockmaster Course (internationally recognised) • The ASRG Preferred Supplier Scheme
• Coordination of input to IMO through AMSA on behalf of Australian shipbuilders, ship repairers and suppliers.
• 24/7 vessel emergency voyage repair coordination service
ASRG is committed to the promotion and continued growth of Australian sovereign capabilities.

                       AI GROUP DEFENCE COUNCIL
THE AI GROUP DEFENCE COUNCIL is the peak national rep- resentative body for the Australian defence industry. The role of the Defence Council is to address significant is- sues that impact the defence industry. The Defence Council is a forum for building and developing the shared interests of the industry through its National Executive and Working Groups which inform policy development, develop initiatives, and promote the shared interests of Defence and industry. The Defence Council brings Government, Defence and de- fence industry together for the benefit of national security and the growth and development of the national defence in- dustry. National Executive members are encouraged to con- tribute to Defence Council matters, including commenting on policy issues, submissions to the parliament, attendance at events and general advocacy of defence industry issues.
PURPOSE & ROLE
The Defence Council National Executive’s purpose is to be the lead voice representing the capabilities of Australia’s defence industry, defence related capabilities in other industries and the associated supply chains along with the ability to provide trusted advice to Government and champion the best policies to support the Australian Defence Force and industry.
AI GROUP WORKING GROUPS
The Defence Council Working Groups were formed to in-
form policy development, develop initiatives and promote the shared interests of Defence and industry. The Working Groups have a focus on:
• Commercial, contracting and ethics;
• Export related issues;
• Security issues, including cyber security, physical security
and security clearances
DEFENCE COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the Ai Group Defence Council offers con- siderable opportunities to contribute to improving the health of Australian defence companies, including access to decision makers. There are two levels of Defence Council membership - the National Executive and Defence Council Business and SME Forum:
• The Defence Council Business and SME Forum receives and exchanges information and attends events and forums. • The National Executive provides leadership and is the
policy making body for the Defence Council.
