CAPABILITIES: The Ai Group Defence Council is the peak national representative body for the Australian defence industry. The role of the Defence Council is to address significant issues that impact the defence industry. The Defence Council is a forum for building and developing the shared interests of the industry through its National Executive and Working Groups which inform policy development, develop initiatives, and promote the shared interests of Defence and industry. The Defence Council brings Government, Defence and de- fence industry together for the benefit of national security and the growth and development of the national defence industry.

CAPABILITIES: Formed prior to WWII, the Australian Shipbuilding & Repair Group (ASRG) continues to be the recognised peak industry body on behalf of the Australian shipbuilding and repair industry sec- tors for all vessel categories and associated supply chain compa- nies, providing in excess of 1,000 products and services to the do- mestic and international market.
The ASRG is dedicated to the promotion and support of Australia’s shipbuilding and ship repair industry.
The ASRG has well-established agreements with various overseas Navies, including an agreement of the past two decades with the USN to co-ordinate repairs as required throughout the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions.
