Highs and lows
HELLO there.
What a thumping year it has been. I’m not sure anyone had a pandemic on their 2020 dance card, but it certainly wasn’t shy about asking for our hand. It has been unprecedented, but food and beverage businesses showed their mettle.
It is in the quietening of the COVID-19 storm (at least for Australia, at the moment) that we are thrilled to bring you our
annual Australia’s Top 100 Food & Drink Companies report. Every year, in collaboration with research partner IBISWorld, we bring you the top performing companies in the sector.
This year shows little movement in the Top 10 while some tightening of criteria saw new entrants at the tail end of
the list and then there were those that took some leaps
up the list or indeed, a tumble down.
The resilience of the food and beverage industry was on show this year and we talk to the Federal Minister for Industry, Science and Technology Karen Andrews about how the Modern Manufacturing Strategy is going to build on
those foundations. See page 7.
It has been a tough year but also a
tremendous one. For the team at
Food & Drink Business, launching our weekly video news bulletin and very own podcast have been standout achievements.
Your engagement and feedback is deeply valued and equally encouraged.
We wish you all a wonderful festive season, filled
with too much of the good things – family, friends, food and fun.
See you in 2021. Onward.
KIM BERRY
