DIAGEO ANZ MD
In April, Angus McPherson was announced as the new managing director for Diageo Australia and New Zealand.
He is responsible for the whole business including manufacturing, marketing and sales. He replaces former managing director David Smith who has taken up a new role
with Diageo as managing director Southern Europe.
McPherson said he was excited to join the company.
“It is globally one of the best brand builders in our industry.
I look forward to working with the team in Australia, building on the platform that David and the entire team have put in place over the past five years.”

MARS WRIGLEY CFO
Mars Wrigley Australia appointed Duncan Webster as its chief financial officer in October. Webster has held various senior roles at the company since 2003.
For the last three years, Webster was the global chocolate business unit finance director for Mars Wrigley in Chicago. Prior to that he was the chief financial officer for Mars Chocolate Australia.
Webster said: “I am thrilled to return to Australia to lead the financial growth of our operations.
“Mars has a long-standing
legacy in the local community, alongside a dedicated group of associates.”

FRUCOR SUNTORY HEAD OF SAFETY AND WELLBEING
In October, Joanne Van Den Berg took on the role as Frucor Suntory’s new head of safety and wellbeing. She joined the team after holding several previous safety roles at Air New Zealand and the Department of Corrections.
Van Den Berg is based in Auckland with a mission to encourage the team’s health, safety, and wellbeing passion to enable better work through a healthier and safer work environment.
“I want safety to be part of our DNA – a core value we embrace, where safety is inherent in all our systems and processes, people instinctively operate safely and challenge others to do the same. A workplace where our people can truly thrive,” she said.
DARREN O’BRIEN
MONDELEZ ANZ, JAPAN PRESIDENT
Darren O’Brien took over from Amanda Banfield as the Mondelez International president for Australia, New Zealand and Japan in May.
O’Brien has had numerous leadership roles at Mondelez International, first joining the company in 2008 as director of sales, ANZ.
He has also held the positions of modern trade director Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, as well as managing director ANZ meals, and president Asia Pacific for the Cheese and Grocery business.
Mondelez executive vice president, and president Asia, Middle East and Africa Maurizio Brusadelli said: “Darren brings an entrepreneurial ability, ‘can do’ spirit, and proven track-record in energising teams, driving new opportunities and growing businesses profitably.” ✷
