“Clients have been so impressed by the work done on this machine. The quality of the R series is beyond what we were able to do in the past,” he says, adding that the machine’s ‘green’ features also speak for itself.
Whilst the fire had been a devastating event for the company,
it had given Deon an opportunity to reset and build a new platform for
the future. He had long desired to move into the field of dye-sublimated fabrics, and now with the larger premises the company has been able to purchase the HP Stitch S1000 fabric and textile dye-sublimation printer. Deon says, “It features an impressive ecosystem, provides amazing quality and will be well-used for the vast array of fabric products we can offer ”
“Having these printers allows us to expand our fabric offerings,” he says, pointing out that the new dye sub printer will further the team’s experience in the finishing process

as well, requiring the purchase of specialised sewing equipment.
Along with the bigger premises and new equipment, the company has also expanded its staff, with 16 people currently on board, and two more to come.
Onreflection Deonsaysthatoneof the things that got the team through the disaster, caused by that fateful day two years ago, was a positive mindset.
“It was important for us to look ahead and not dwell on the disaster, which would weigh us down. We took one step at a time, and after a lot
of hard work, we were on the other side,” he says.
“The daily support we received from the people and suppliers we knew, and those we had not heard from in a long time, or even spoken to before, was so humbling,” he adds. “It kind of pushed us forward.”
Deon is also buoyed by the fact that clients have remained loyal and are still with Big Image Australia, which he says had initially been a point of concern.
“We wondered whether our clients would still be with us by the time
we moved into our new premises, purchased new equipment, and got things running again,” he says.
But the Capogrecos need not have worried. The support received from the industry, along with others, including their friends and family, gave them hope and confirmed that rebuilding the business was the right thing to do.
“This encouragement has truly helped us through the disaster,” Deon says with gratitude.
