  Highly effective HVACR hygiene
IT’S OFFICIAL: TECHNICIANS can use Vi- per Germicidal Disinfectant with complete confidence on all aluminium surfaces, includ- ing micro-channel HVACR coils operating at elevated temperatures.
Viper Germicidal is an Australian made TGA compliant hospital grade ready mix hard surface disinfectant perfect for sanitising HVACR coils.
A rigorous ‘accelerated compatibility test’ performed by Australian Chemical Services has determined that Viper Germicidal will have zero adverse effect on all grades and types of aluminium, including micro-channel HVACR coils, even after prolonged use.
The test involved repeated cycles of applying Viper Germicidal to unprotected parts of an aluminium micro-channel HVACR coil and subjecting it to high temperatures.
Inspection of the coil after the test found no difference between the half of the coil that had been treated with Viper Germicidal and that which had not.
Formulated on the latest quaternary am-
monium compound technol- ogy, the 4-in-1 formulation of Viper Germicidal contains advanced active ingredients that are highly effective at killing bacteria and germs, and controlling mould.
Subtly fragranced and pH neutral, this product is suitable for all hard surfaces and all indus- try sectors.
Applying anti-bacterial cleaners, commercial or hospital grade disinfectants to a clean surface dramatically reduces the risk of continued mi- crobial growth and delays further microbial growth by extending product life on the surface.
There is little point in applying disinfectant to heavily soiled coils as this does not eliminate con- tamination because disinfectants do not remove or digest organic matter such as mould and natu- ral fats – that can act as food sources for germs – especially within a heat exchanger or coil.
Choose the best Viper coil cleaning product for the task in hand and use that before apply-
ing Viper Germicidal to an HVACR coil or heat exchanger.
In conjunction with clean coils, regular re- placement and cleaning of return air filters helps reduce the likelihood of germs and bacte- ria spreading through an HVACR system as well as reducing condensation, which provides pathways for bacteria and germs that can spread rapidly through droplets.

    Lightweight options for installers
TO PROVIDE INSTALLERS with a new option for projects with limited space outdoors and in the ceiling cavity, Fujitsu General Australia will be adding an 18kW high static three-phase ducted air conditioner to its Infinity range in early 2021.
This 18kW option will include a narrow 480mm outdoor unit and lightweight (69kg) in- door unit.
The narrow outdoor unit provides more op- tions when finding a suitable location, while the lightweight indoor unit offers installation flexi- bility and is less labour intensive.
Able to be separated into a fan unit and heat exchanger, this system makes installation with- in the roof cavity of existing homes easier, and an optional Truss Transition Kit can assist when in- stalling the indoor unit around and between ex- isting roof trusses.
To ensure the indoor unit delivers the optimum airflow throughout the home, the remote control can be used during installation to automatically set the static pressure and adjust the airflow.
The new 18kW Infinity ducted air conditioner is compatible with zone control and the Fujitsu
General anywAiR technology ducted controller. Zone control ensures different areas in the unit or home can be set up for optimal indoor comfort and energy management.
The optional anywAiR technology ducted con- troller will also allow the user to control the air conditioner with a compatible smart phone or tablet anytime, anywhere using the anywAiR app.
According to Kyle Rafter, national product manager at Fujitsu General, the new 18kW unit will meet industry demand from air conditioning specialists and consumers for more flexible duct- ed options that can be installed in existing homes.
The Infinity 18kW ducted air conditioning system will come with a five-year parts and la- bour warranty as well as access to Fujitsu Gen- eral’s in-house customer care and technical sup- port team, Fujitsu General Assist, for ongoing, local support.
