    Compact, direct
spray humidifier
CONDAIR HAS LAUNCHED the JetSpray Compact, a new low capacity direct room spray humidifier.
It uses compressed air to create very fine aerosols from two nozzles, which can deliver up to 30 kilos of humidity every hour to a room’s atmosphere.
The wall-mounted system is ideal for use in industries such as printing, textile and food production, where a local process or small room might need accurate and reliable, low energy humidification.
To provide 30kg of humidification, an electric steam humidifier would consume around 22kW, whereas the JetSpray Compact would only need around 2.5kW. This equates to approximately 90% less electrical consumption.
Spray humidifiers also offer the additional benefit of evaporative cooling.
When a cold water humidifier introduces 30kg of moisture to an atmosphere, around 20kW of cooling is generated.
For any process that benefits from additional cooling, this could significantly reduce air condi- tioning costs, or simply make a warm environ- ment much more pleasant.
The JetSpray Compact can operate on mains or RO water and will control an environment to around +/-4%RH. It incorporates automated flush and drain cycles to combat microbial growth and ensure hygienic humidification.
An optional PureFlo antimicrobial water filter is also available to treat the incoming water supply.
The humidifier is supplied fully assembled and just needs to be wall-mounted, then connected to power, water and drain. As no installation of additional nozzles or associated pipework is required, it is a very easy system to install.
User control is via a remotely located humidis- tat with a digital display. The user can set their desired humidity level and the humidistat will monitor the atmosphere and control the output of the humidifier accordingly.

Healthy buildings scorecard
The scorecard promotes best practice for IAQ.
IAQ VENTILATION HAS developed the Healthy Buildings Scorecard to promote industry best practices in indoor air quality across residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
The scorecard is an evidence- based frame- work for measuring, monitoring, and certify- ing the building features that impact indoor air quality.
The Healthy Buildings Scorecard is a free, self- assessment tool that lets users quickly see what
is working well for building occupants and where improvements can be made.
The benchmark ratings represent best practice and can be used as a pathway to gaining local and international IAQ certifications such as NABERS or WELL.
The scorecard was launched last month by IAQ Ventilation, technology providers for indoor air quality solutions with more than 20 years experience.
 Guide to specifying humidifiers
HUMIDITY CONTROL SPECIALIST, Condair, has released an easy-to-follow 10-point guide to specifying humidifiers, which is aimed at HVAC consultants.
The document presents an overview of the most important elements in designing a humidi- fication project.
It covers topics such as AHU vs in-room strat- egy, psychrometrics, product sizing, technology
selection, installation and hygiene management. Condair Australia managing director, Ian Eitzen, said it is an accessible guide for specifiers
and consultants.
“From the initial psychrometric calculations to
considerations around commissioning and maintenance, it walks the designer through the entire process,” he said.
“The illustrated guide covers humidification of both air handling units and direct room humid- ity control, comparing all types of humidifier technology.
“The comprehensive advice it presents is unbiased and has been developed from experience across thousands of projects globally by Condair’s expert sales and service teams.”
