Printers will be able to claim half their apprentices’ wages until at least March under the latest $2.5bn Covid stimulus package from the federal government, with its new JobTrainer programme.

Boutique Melbourne print business Taylor’d Press emerged as the country’s de facto best printer with more golds than anyone else, five, at this year’s National Print Awards.
Heidelberg sells Gallus for €120m
Heidelberg has sold the Gallus label press business to Benpac, a bit of a mystery Switzerland-headquartered business with 3100 employees. Benpac paid €120m for Gallus.
Logick named best Kiwi printer
Logick Print & Graphics was effectively named best printer in New Zealand, winning the Pride in Print 2020 Supreme Award, for its Bee NZ Premium Packaging for Manuka Honey, entered in the Paper & Board Packaging category.

Print sites to close as newspapers share
The three big newspaper publishers outside WA have agreed a historic deal to print each other’s papers, spelling the end for several newspaper print sites, and, in effect, giving News Corp a stranglehold on newsprint.
