Consider these tips when hiring a service provider for major home improvements:
1. Con rm valid contractors license by visiting www.cslb.ca.gov/consumers, nd information on contracts, permits, complaints, and current regulations.
2. Check online for trusted consumer reviews.
3. Get at least three estimates.
4. Have expectations in writing.
5. Get proof of insurance.
6. Make sure all applicable permits are obtained.
7. Don’t pay more than 10% up front.
8. Don’t sign off on the job until you are satis ed.
