Headlines of the past year touted hacks of YAHOO, the Democratic National Committee and even the DVRs and other devices that contributed to the massive DDoS attacks that took down access to communication and commerce giants Twitter and Amazon. The bill for breaches, brand and trust repair certainly adds up.
By 2021, cybercrime damages are expected to cost our world over $6 trillion annually.
Attackers are growing bolder too. Experts predict
that the human surface area of their reach will vastly increase over the coming months, meaning that their next target could be you, your clients, your business or your employees.
How can you begin to address these cybercrimes? And, since cybersecurity is not just a task for IT, how can you rally the cyber defenses?
Increasingly, CPAs, CFOs and business professionals find themselves in the role of overseeing some
aspect of cybersecurity, whether for the purposes of organizational insurance and risk assessment or for evaluating a specialized area like existing and evolving threats in a fraud investigation.
The Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA) works with member professionals in the field, as well as state and national resources, to bring you programming that helps you rally the cyber defenses. Here’s just a few highlights of how courses this May and June will be infused with cybersecurity.
Vendors. No one can deny the role they play in
