Each week, ArtVenturers explore a theme through theatre, visual arts, and music! What would you do if YOU ran the zoo? This program combines the whimsical works and words of Dr. Seuss with playful exploration of animals and creatures of all types. Sing a song of sneetches, build a bippo-no-bungus, and invent a marvelous menagerie not yet known to this world! This program culminates in an imaginative showcase and exhibit on Friday for family and friends.

In this favorite WCT program, participants become screenwriters, directors, and movie stars as they write and produce their own short films, all in just one week! From camera angles to cameos, from b-roll to bloopers, this program will get the ‘on set’ experience as they work as a team to make their movies. Participants will give family and friends a peek into their process in a showcase on Friday afternoon, and the final films will later be distributed via email.

Drawing In Space (Gr 3-4)

Pick up your pencil and create a new world before your very eyes! Participants in this program will both build drawing skill and utilize their creativity to explore the concept of space. Whether venturing to outer space or feeling the difference between a crowded design and a sparse one, participants will love this week focused on the world of drawing. This program culminates in an exhibit on Friday for family and friends.

What A Relief (Gr 5-8)

Printmaking, the original way of making a stamp to create multiple copies of an image, is a fascinating artform that is easier than it looks! Participants in this week-long program draw, carve, assemble, and print their own images through techniques ranging from relief block printing to collograph to monoprinting! (Don’t know what those words mean? You will!) Participants will have the opportunity to print on various kinds of paper and even fabric.
