SAFETY NOTICES
To All Georgian Peaks Club Members, Guests and Staff using ski lifts
Please ensure that all loose articles of clothing are secured in such a way as to not get caught in any part of the ski lift. Lift Attendants have been instructed not to allow any passengers to embark on lift facilities if the passenger is found to have loose or dangling clothing or equipment such as...
• Scarves
• Suspenders
• Glove or mitten strings • Goggles
• Leashes
• Backpacks
This is a partial list. Please obey this requirement and always use care and attentiveness when riding our lifts.
Small children wearing goggles on their helmets should be instructed to ensure their goggles are on their helmet securely at all times and not dangling from the back.
WINCH SAFETY NOTICE
Please be advised that snowshoeing and hiking on trails after regular operating hours can be very dangerous and is not permitted.
Snowmaking/grooming operations are dangerous and must be given adequate room to operate. Conditions vary and the Equipment Operators’ visibility can be limited.
Winch grooming operations are of particular danger. The winch cable can be buried under the snow and it will not be visible. The cable will also “whip” and can cause ser- ious injury, dismemberment or death.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE BE ON TRAILS THAT ARE BEING WINCHED.
Winch operations could and will occur on any trails, not just the steeps. A flashing blue light at the winch anchor point and on the winch cat indicates that winching is in progress.
Your co-operation and understanding is appreciated.
Thank-you for your co-operation.
There will be no charge for the pass at our Club.
THE TERRAIN PARK PASS PROGRAM
As you all know Terrain Parks, the features within them and the way these facilities are enjoyed have been constantly evolving. The snow sports industry must keep pace and change the way we manage and operate our terrain features.
The Escarpment Clubs, together with our common insurance provider have developed the Escarpment Terrain Park Pass. It has been created to ensure that all riders enjoying advanced terrain park features at the Club are properly educated on how to use them safely. The Escarpment Terrain Park Pass program will be offered in the same manner with the same materials at each participating area.
Once an individual views a short video, completes a quick and easy test, a Terrain Park Pass sticker will be issued from our Member & Guest Services Office.
Once you have successfully completed the test, please ensure you print the test results page and come in to the Member & Guest Services Office to sign the release. Remember, your parent/guardian must sign the waiver if you are under the age of 18. You will no longer be able to complete the waiver on-line.
This will allow park riders the use of the advanced Terrain Parks and Half-Pipes at the following participating Ski Clubs for the entire season:
• Alpine Ski Club
• Brimacombe Ski Club
• Devil’s Glen Country Club
• Laurentian Ski Hill
• Battawa Ski Club
• Caledon Ski Club
• The Georgian Peaks Club
• Beaver Valley Ski Club • • Craigleith Ski Club
• Osler Bluff Ski Club
The North American snow sports industry and its insurers are committed to increasing awareness, safety, and enjoyment on the hills. The Ski Clubs involved believe that this program accomplishes these goals in a manner that is quick, convenient and effective. As always your Club is focused on the safety of its Members and Guests while providing new and exciting experiences.
