As a new ski and snowboard season quickly approaches, we are very excited to welcome our Peaks’ families back to the Club. There is a lot of activity happening around the property
getting things ready for opening day!
The new Clubhouse is well underway and we are all very excited to call it our new home. Raymond van Groll provides you with a great update on work completed and what the building will look like once nished. If you are not following our social media channels you are missing out on the weekly updates. I encourage you to follow along and share the updates with your networks, it is exciting to watch!
Darrell Dennis will update you on our busy summer completing projects on hill including expanding snowmaking automation, pipe replacement, upgrades to the Rogers Chair and some unexpected work on the Bay Street Chair gearbox. Our snowmaking system has already produced snow, lift inspections are completed and our Snowmaking Team is waiting for more cold weather to continue their great work.
Last season we introduced a new Member survey as an additional tool to help us understand if the Membership’s satisfaction is increasing. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback; it really does help the Management Team. We received some great comments and over the summer the Management Team has reviewed all of the feedback and made changes to improve your Member experience.
One area you told us needed improvement is our food and beverage. In Jason MacArthur’s update, you will read about what changes the Food and Beverage Team is making to improve the experience. The changes start with new additions with extensive experience working in the private club industry to the Team. Along with the creation of a Food Sub-Committee, the introduction of new menu options, expanded Deli operations and après food stations.
Attracting new Members has been a key focus of the Membership Committee and Management over the summer. Some fantastic offers have been created that I encourage you to share with your family, friends, coworkers, and anyone looking to join the best ski club around!
Tomaz Senk and his Team are raising the bar with some impressive updates happening in the Alpine Programs Department. This includes the exciting new addition to the Snowboard Coaching Team, new and enhanced programs and the return of the Ladies’ NorAm Races. Tomaz also lets us know about one of our own being inducted into the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance Hall of Fame.
This season the new Clubhouse will reduce our parking capacity, particularly during the 10-week Alpine Program period. We are in the process of securing off- site parking that will include a shuttle bus service. We will be directing our Employees and Volunteers to use this off-site parking to help reduce strain on our Club’s parking lots. We also need our Member families to help reduce the number of vehicles at the Club by carpooling this season in order to help manage the parking.
I look forward to another great winter at the Club. See you on the Chairlift!
