Thanks to all who participated in our Club’s invitation to display our cars at Tewantin recently.
The little town of Tewantin celebrated it’s 150th year since Proclamation with a Saturday morning of street fair, Stage Coach rides and a really good display of classic cars.
A Veteran car called the ‘Economy’ made a Grand Drive down the main street of Tewantin following the ‘Cobb and Co’ Stage Coach. A few members with later model cars took part in a parade through the main street too.
Lots of period dress and attire made for plenty of photo opportunities – especially with the Town Crier !
The local Historical Society had a good display about early Tewantin with loads of old photos, documents etc. in the foyer rooms of the Royal Mail Hotel. One of those photos caught my interest with many Vintage cars gathered around the Royal Mail Hotel and by the look of the early models it must have been circa 1927 – what an era it must have been to live through.
The Roadrunner Car Club was presented with a ‘certificate of appreciation’ on the day for our efforts – nice touch and a great day.
Cheers Noel
All club members who took part were given a Certificate of Appreciation by the Tewantin Celebration organisers.
