It was just another day in practice for Malcolm Stewart. The early morning schedule didn’t seem to affect him at all and he was his same jovial, energetic self. He bounced around the track the same way that he seems to bounce around during interviews, posting the fastest time in practice by a
margin of .8 of a second over Jeremy Martin. Despite a little tip over in the sand during the 1st practice, Mookie looked to be on pace to dominate St. Louis just like he had done in Detroit a couple weeks prior. In his heat race, Stewart used the middle line through the 1st turn and attempted to shove it up the inside of the Rockstar Husqvarna of Martin Davalos in the 2nd corner. Davalos was having none of that and kept the throttle on around the outside of Stewart, consequently hitting a better rhythm in the next section and keeping the lead. Before the first lap came to a close, Mookie used the same line that bit him in practice to make the pass on Davalos. He put his Geico Honda in the inside rut as Davalos opted to go outside and absolutely rocketed out of the corner side by side with the Husqvarna. Mookie got on the brakes later and took the line away into the next 180 degree corner.
