Chad Reed entered the night looking to establish
himself as the all time Anaheim wins leader. It was easy to tell that he would give it his all and contend for the win especially coming off of a strong 2nd at San Diego I. Reed started off his night with a come from behind 2nd place finish in his heat race showing that he had the speed and the will to be a contender for a win in the main event.
Reed would get a good start in the main event behind early leader Davi Millsaps and Ryan Dungey. Both Dungey and Reed quickly worked their way around Millsaps and it looked like there would be a battle for the lead. However, Reed would settle in behind Dungey and similar to last week in San Diego, he just couldn’t close the gap. At the end of the race, Reed would have Tomac and Roczen close in and force a battle for second. Reed would weather the storm from Tomac and Roczen and hold onto the 2nd place position for the second week in a row. It was a great race for Reed as he continues to prove he can still mix it up with the best. He is knocking on the door for a race win as the series rolls into Oakland.
