theGRIT In true dark horse
fashion, Justin Brayton
exploded into the 450
semi with a killer start,
held on to fifth place and banged bars with Weston Peick. While Peick seemed to slip away, Brayton worked to reel him in, chasing him wildly through the sand section. A sudden bobble by Peick coming out of the sand gave Brayton the chance to pass; Brayton took advantage of the moment and slipped around Peick. Peick aggressively at- tempted to gain his spot back as Brayton began to pull away with two laps to go. Brayton grabs fourth place behind Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen in the final lap, grabbing the last transfer spot from Weston Peick.
Brayton digs deep and finds a stroke of luck as he makes it
out of the wreckage of the first turn of the 450 main. Not long into the first lap Brayton finds himself tailing Weston Peick again, holding on to sixth place. Brayton finds himself battling Jake Weimer while Cole Seely begins to breathe down his neck. After making a pass on Weimer, Brayton is suddenly overtaken by Seely with six laps to go. Brayton battled with Weimer apply steady pressure until he was able to get by him with ten laps to go, While Seeley blasts ahead, Brayton focuses on keeping Weimer be- hind him for the remainder of the race. A steady ride for Brayton shakes out with a ninth place.
