Brok McAllister made the jump from motorcycle racer to motorcycle racing promoter at the turn of the new millennium when he founded the SupermotoUSA se- ries. Since its inaugural year in 2002, the series has provided an opportunity for upcoming motorcycle racers on the west coast of the United States to hone their skills and sharpen their craft, affording them a competitive calendar of races to test their skills on both asphalt and dirt. Proven MotoAmerica racers such as Cameron Beaubier and Bobby Fong got their start on the asphalt in the SupermotoUSA series and have graduated to the pinnacle of road racing competition in the United States, proving just how beneficial the seat time on a Supermoto bike can be. In addition to his involvement as the series founder, organizer, and promoter -- McAllister also directs the AMA Supermoto West series and spends his free time providing lessons for beginner and intermediate riders in tandem with his son, Gage, whether it be through the California Supermoto School or at their home track. We took the time for a quick conversation with Brok about the history of SupermotoUSA, the upcoming Sturgis Buffalo Chip, and the current state of the sport in America.
