the FT-2 CR-1 Carbon; overall a decent helmet that didn’t break the bank, just what I needed. However it wasn’t until the new Arrow model came out, essentially replacing the FT-2 from the line up. Man, what a game changer that helmet was! Not only was it lighter than the old helmet, but also the view port was noticeably taller than any other helmet on the market at the time. The added vertical and horizontal visibility meant at tracks with high elevation changes, I could see more without having to stretch my head. And nowhere was this more immediately noticeable than heading up
turn four at Barber. If you don’t know the track it’s a wall! But thanks to the improved visibility, I could look further ahead and as a result I became faster and more confident on the track.
With you embarking on a journey to conquer the track, where just over a year ago you had that awful accident, how confident are you in the gear you are wearing, and the innovative LS2 Arrow Carbon Indy Helmet? I know your nerves must be high, and anticipation must be building.
Yeah nerves are definitely high, it’s made worse by the fact that not only have I not been to this track in over
a year, but it’s also likely to be raining during the races and I’ve never raced in the rain! But if there’s one thing I’m not concerned about, it’s the Arrow helmet. I have 100% confidence my helmet will help keep me safe.
As the RedSpade brand has advocated throughout the years, the LS2 helmet has been a pivotal and innovative company
in both the road racing and motocross industries. They carry a label of seeking constant improvement, consumer-friendly pricing, and comfort that’s top of the line. What can you tell fellow racers, and those looking to choose a helmet in the near future; why LS2?
When it comes to putting a price on your head, you should always want the best helmet you can afford. But don’t be fooled into believing, “the best” is the same as, “the most expensive”. I will certainly say there are
helmets that are “cheap” and do not meet the minimum safety requirements to keep your head safe — but LS2 is NOT one of them. If you are looking for a helmet
that meets or exceeds the minimum safety standards, but not break your bank — LS2 is a great option to consider.
However, while looks are nice, a proper fitting helmet is what can make the difference in saving your life. Be sure the helmet you choose to buy property fits your head and be sure they meet DOT, ECE standards at a minimum — SNELL if you are planning on racing cars. Last but not least, check the manufacture date on the shell and replace your helmet every five years at a minimum.
With you being on a hectic schedule, and preparing to race this weekend, where can we go to find more about your brand and sponsors? Any social media accounts or websites in particular? Who all would you like to thank, for getting you to this point in your career?
